![]() Rating: - "I guess families are an awful pain in the neck sometimes, but there is a lot to be said for them."Gail Macaulay (Ann Blyth) has it all. She's beautiful, she has a loving family, a faithful boyfriend (Farley Granger), and is about to graduate from high school. She has her fair share of problems, like her ambitious little sister Joan (Joan Evans) who tries to horn in on her boyfriend. Perhaps if enough of us mention it in a review, it will happen!! Ann Blyth is such a poop in Mildred Pierce- yet such a lovely gentle young woman in this film, it just confirms how underated her performances were. It is entertaining minus the violence, sex, action, and special affects we have become accustomed to in movies, today. I, recently, saw this movie on the Turner Classic Movie channel. It deals with a more simpler time, family, and a story line that is believable. A child finds out, by accident, that she was adopted. As a result, the family has to come together and deal with the emotional turmoil that everyone in the family experiences. The actors ... Read More Browse for similar items by category:
