Operating in a circular pattern of 130 feet, the Vibrasonic Molechaser also chases off ground squirrels, shrews, voles, pocket mice, and gophers. It won't harm the rodents or your earthworms or your pets; it won't even harm your lawnmower, because you can bury it flush with the ground. At 1-3/4 inches in diameter and 16 inches long, the anodized aluminum Vibrasonic Molechaser doesn't require an excavation of your garden, and you can replace the four D-cell batteries--approximately once every 4 to 6 months--without digging it up. The devices arrived swiftly and at a good price. Not sure if they are working as I can't see the voles - only their holes.

So far this product is working perfectly. I have had it installed for
about one month. Under my lawn in Alabama I have packed red clay. I
dug a narrow hole and then packed the soil tightly around the unit. The cap on top is one half inch above ground. The mole was active for the first week or two as expected. Since then there has been no sign of any moles. The sound from the unit, which is packed tightly, is very very faint.

I bought 3 of these about 3-4 weeks ago for a large yard that has had moles in it since before we built here 10 years ago. I had bought a cheap mole chaser from a mail catalog 7 years ago that did not work at all, but these have actually worked. No new activity the past week or two. You do have to place the 'buzzing' part in the bottom of the cylinder. the way the motor and battery holder work, you can place it in upside down or right side up. I live in a wooded area so moles are abundant. Two years ago I purchased two units for my front and side yard and they really do help. I say help because nothing is 100% when it comes to moles tunneling in your yard. For best results kill what the moles are feeding on. "Bayer Complete" is a liquid with it's own sprayer that you connect to your hose for $12. This, or similar product, used along with the "Mole Chaser" unit will get rid of and keep away those pest. I placed 2 mole chasers about 4 weeks ago in my back yard. I have sandy soil so I placed them about 30' apart (shorter interval with sandy soil/farther for clay soil). So far, no success. The moles are still tunneling the same as previous. I know the mole tunnels are active because every time I smash the tunnel down, within an hour, it is back up.
