We use the fan to offset some pretty high electric rates here in TX. Our tower fan quit oscillating and have had Hunter ceiling fans with positive results. Bought from Amazon and was pleased with their service and the fan is just what we need to push a large amount of air throughout our medium sized Den. It is quiet enough and very solidly built. - This fan blows
a lot of air. It is so powerful that its lowest setting blows plenty of air. The drawback to this is that it's kind of noisy, which I expect is because it's all metal, as opposed to plastic, which most fans are made of. I don't mind the noise too much because it's a nice hum.

I orderd the floor model and this version from Hunter and have been very pleased. They are beautiful to look at, weighty, as solidly made as they can be and very quiet. The buttons are thick pieces of solid metal. There is no plastic anywhere on these. Their lowest speed is almost inaudible, yet they cool by moving air so efficiently.
