- Heat good, not too quiet
My main concern with this product was that it wasn't too noisy, because I'm a light sleeper. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it failed the test. It did seem to warm the room in a uniform manner, but had what I can only describe as a "rumbling hum" that was annoying. To be honest, it's not as loud as say, a window air conditioner, but I guess it was the type of sound that I found bothersome. - AVOID VORNADO LIKE YOU WOULD THE PLAGUE

I'm posting this on all Vornado listings on Amazon, as all potential purchasers need to be aware of the shortcomings of Vornado's warranty policy.

I purchased two fans from Vornado direct. Both were larger, more expensive units (280 & 285) that had either ten year or lifetime warranties.

One year after the purchase, the 285 began to vibrate upon start-up. The fan blades would barely revolve, and the fan emitted a loud rattling sound.

- Silent and warm
I have purchased many space heaters for my drafty house and this is the best so far. It may feel like it's not working but my room quickly becomes warm and toasty. My room is 15 X 15. I have used it in my dining room as well and it warms that room too. It's 17 x 20. What I like best is that the heat is all around the room not just the direction it's pointed in. Great product! I'm buying another one.

this heater does just what it says. i've used it on the cold new england monrnings we've had lately and it works. i have a 1000sf great room with hard wood floors and it takes the chill off. in smaller rooms it generates enough heat to turn off my baseboard!

This Vornado heater is well-designed and heats a room quickly. The thermostat is easy to set to a specific temp with up/down buttons and regulates the heating and the fan speed depending on the set temperature and room temperature. The display shows the current room temperature.

The heater quickly fills a medium-sized room with warm air. It is good for difficult to heat rooms, such as those with tall ceilings, as it keeps the air moving.
