- Frustrate the squirrels
We got our feeder about a week ago, and it took only a couple of days to realize it really does work -- the squirrels quit trying after a day! One night we came home and found the feeder on the ground -- it is normally mounted on the deck about 10 feet above the ground. The cardinal ring was off and a perch was bent. It definitely keeps the squirrels out!!! They tried the first few times and they gave up since the spring loaded feeder dropped, closing off the feeder holes. I'm enjoying my feeder with very beauitful, colorful birds. I hope it does the same for you.

Great birdfeeder! We live in an area with lots of bird life (and squirrels). This feeder does exactly what it says. Love to watch the squirrels try to land on it and jump off because they can't get food.

Last year I had great success with Squirrel Buster Plus. It was set at 4 ounces and mostly used by small birds and cardinals. Later that summer, I was able to set it at 6 ounces with the same success. This year it's been a nightmare. Set at 4 ounces, I have had pigeons, grackles and doves spend most of the day on this feeder. 4 ounces will prevent pigeons from getting any food out, but it doesn't stop them from trying. I love this birdfeeder. I bought it because the squirrels were practically living on my deck, where I kept my Droll Yankee feeders. After a week or so, they all gave up and now stay on the ground below, looking for discarded seed, or use the squirrel feeder I set up for them on the fence, some distance away.
