- Works like a charm!
I first rented a Bounty Hunter Fast Tracker to find iron property stakes on my property. It found the easy ones (with some difficulty) that are close to the surface. Then I rented the Garrett Ace 250 because I could not find the last two. It found them, even though they were buried 5-6" below the surface. - For the money, you can't beat this Garret
As a beginner, I can't really compare the Garret Ace 250 to other more expensive detectors. I can say that this detector's performance, features, and ease of use easily exceeded my expectations. Great value!

Not bad for a first detector,very easy to operate but impossible to descriminate a pull tad from a gold ring so expect to dig out your share of pull tabs, coin shooting seems good for americam coins only, a Canadian dime i identified as foil, depth indicator is so so, the tracker IV is as good of a machine for 100$ less.

It is a GREAT metal detector for the price. It has many features that are on much more expensive models, coin ID and depth of target are just two of them. The ACE 250 is very easy to use because of factory set controls, plus ease of custom setting. It is light weight , but well thought out and made.It has five modes of operation, all metal,jewelry,custom,relics, and coin. Battery life is from 20 to 40 hours from four AA's. Hi, excuse me for my bad english. I bought this ace 250, is my first metal detector, i found a lot of coins, not gold or silver until now. In my garden, and in sand beach. Is a really good machine until 18 20 centimeters max (coins). It discrimines well iron from coins, is easy to use, is sensitive, battery have long life, and it tell you exactly proof of target.
