MY FIRST TIME GETTING IT THE ELECTRONICS DID NOT WORK AT ALL, AND I HAD A PAGEANT SO THAT WAS VERY UPSETTING. THE STRINGS WERE POPPING LEFT TO RIGHT AND THE BRIDGE IS WAY TO BIG, MY ADVICE IF YOU WANT TO GET AN ELECTRIC SOUND TO YOUR VIOLIN, BUY A PICKUP. I was really surprised at the way it hold its tune and it also came with a pretty nice brazilian hardwood bow. It barely works for that, but I would suggest other instruments. The instrument is a little heavier than an "acoustic violin" and it will not support your shoulder rest--you will need to cut on a sponge or styrofoam to replicate the feel of your shoulder rest.
