Description:
Hey, Paisanos! It’s The Super Mario Bros.® Super Show!™

In 1989 the two most famous plumbers from Brooklyn burst out of the Nintendo® game world and onto television screens across America. The Super Mario Bros.® Super Show!™ aired weekday afternoons and brought Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and King Koopa more thrilling adventures as animated cartoon characters.

And if that weren’t enough, each episode also contained live-action segments featuring Mario and Luigi running their Brooklyn plumbing shop — all before they were flushed down a drainpipe into the Mushroom World. With professional wrestler Captain Lou Albano as Mario, Danny Wells as Luigi, plus a strong rock ’n’ rap score, the show attracted guest stars like pop sensation Cyndi Lauper, professional wrestler Sgt. Slaughter, Danica McKellar (The Wonder Years), NBA superstar Magic Johnson and Nicole Eggert (Baywatch).

These 24 original episodes, complete with animation and live-action segments, plus the special features will convince you…

"Hangin’ with the plumbers, you’ll be hooked on the brothers…"

SPECIAL FEATURES
A Brand New Interview with Captain Lou Albano ("Mario")

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Ouch
When I was young, I watched this show and loved the cartoon segments, but hated the live action segments. Now that I went back and saw them on this collection, the few good live action segments are the only things that are keeping me from making a fire out of this collection. The cartoons had such terrible stories, jokes and animation. I liked Dennis Hopper playing Koopa in the '93 movie, but the lines they gave this guy, and the look of him, almost made me want to throw up. For the live action segments, ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Based On The Popular Video Game, Mario Is Coming To TV
The seasons of the Mario Bros. on DVD are better than the video games. You have all the characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool ( It became Princess Peach in 2000 ), Toad, Bowser Koopa, Koopa Troopa, Koopa Kids ( Not 'Til Super Mario Bros. 3 ), Yoshi ( The Mario Log In ). The animation of these classic games went to life. The Mario character started in the 1981 game Donkey Kong and know it is for whole new systems and better and better and better as a video game series. The show was a good improvement ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Do the Mario!
I couldn't believe it when I saw this at the store, and I had to have it right away. The best part is that I was only 6 or 7 years old when this first came on, and I could only remember 2 episodes distinctly, so the other 22 episodes are new to me. I remember not liking the live action parts, but I found out that is just because I saw 2 bad segments. 5 or 6 minutes of the show is live action, and the other 17 minutes is the cartoon story. They never have anything to do with eachother, and the cartoon is way ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - HEY PAISANOS!!
Well I was soooooo happy when I found out that one of my child hood shows were hitting DVD! So I went on here and looked at the reviews. I was a little scared at first to purchase when I started to see people saying that there were no live action segments. I thought to myself if the people who put this DVD were to take that out the show would't be a show at all because the live action segments are what made the show so intresting. So finally I took the bull by the horns and just went with my gut and got it myself. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - wacky kid humor
bought this item for my [...]grandson who is hooked on Nintendo's Mario and characters from the game cube. he has a good sense of humor and like crazy, azny comedy. he loves it. his mom says "just really stupid". guess you got to be a kid to love it but my grandson does, so I'm happy with my purchase.
