About Seiko
In 1877, at the age of 18, Kintaro Hattori set up business repairing the Western-style clocks that were becoming increasingly popular in Japan. By 1892, Hattori was manufacturing his own clocks in a factory he called Seikosha, from the words "seiko" meaning "exquisite," "success," or "miniature," and "sha" meaning "house." The company grew and prospered, producing its first wristwatch in 1913 and launching the Seiko brand in 1924. Technological innovation has always been a driving force in the company's history. Key milestones include Seiko's introduction of the world's first quartz watch in 1969, and its successful launch, in 1988, of the Kinetic, the world's first battery-free watch with quartz accuracy. Today, the Seiko brand continues to stand for state-of-the-art technology, as well as superior quality and refined design.

Warranty
This Seiko watch is covered by a limited 3-year manufacturer's warranty (includes 1st year worldwide coverage with 2nd and 3rd years valid only in the United States). This warranty does not cover the strap, crystal, watch bracelet, battery, or any watch accessory. This includes, but is not limited to, any pouch or belt attached to the watch. If the watch is repaired or serviced by anyone other than Seiko, the warranty becomes void.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - most inaccurate automatic watch ever
AFter reading all of the reviews on this watch, I decided to add the orange monster on my collection. But after 5 months of wearing it, I realized that this is one of most inaccuracy automatic watch ever made. I've always doubt about seiko automatic movement but still want to give it a try. My orange monster is about 2 minutes faster everyday. I had to adjust it daily, while my movado museum only off about 2 minutes/month. My Tissot is off about 3.5 minutes/month. If you want to buy good automatic ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Accept no subtitute, go for the new icon, the Orange Monster
This is an awesome watch. Great dive watch, great automatic watch (winds from the movement of your wrist), great BIG watch.

With a stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap, this is water resistant to 200m, with strongly luminescent markings on an orange dial, and a unidirectional bezel. The orange was selected for visibility at depth, and the bezel that rotates in one direction is a hold over from the days before digital dive computers. The large dial also aids visibility.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Seiko Orange Monster SKX781K1 (2008/12/16)
Hello, I just recieved the Seiko SKX781K1 (Orange Monster, Steel bracelet).

It cost me $194 (including $39.00 shipping to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada). Ordered on 4pm Friday, recieved 2pm Tuesday (2 day shipping).

This watch is built very SOLID, the crown screws down nice and tight as well. It is fairly heavy (which is nice) only 8 grams lighter than my Tissot Seastar 1000 (blue). My Tissot is a bit classier and now dedicated to special occasions.

Very nice bracelet ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I really enjoy this watch
I already have the Black Monster and like it. I bought the Orange monster because the day/date is Black print on white and easier to see. This watch is keeping perfect time, as opposed to the black face which picke up 1-2 minutes each day. I was resetting it 2-3 times a week. I knew this would probably occurr from other reviews I read on Amazon. I like the large watch, and both are quite rugged.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - not accurate

These seiko automatics keep terrible time they go super fast,a 20 dollars quartz keep much better time than these,i guess for fanatics and collectors is ok.There's new technology now,no reason to stay in the past.
