- filter meets expectations
This filter meets expectations, so far no complaints. It is not GE brand but it saved me a couple of dollars, and gets the job done. The only difference that I notice is the label instead of GE is Brita and works perfect.

Great replacement filter. Easy install right out of box, remember to fill with water prior to installation. Takes a bit for flow to get back to normal.

Bought a replacement filter for my daughter's GE refrigerator. This Brita Replacement for GE MWF/GWF Filter (GERF-100) looks to me as equal to the original but at half the price!

After reading some of the previous reviews, I was a little hesitant to try the Brita out. I had no reason to worry, as it works like a champ and cost less than the GE OEM filter. The one trick I realized was that you couldn't just pour water in the center hole and expect it to fill the filter. The center hole fills up quickly, but doesn't actually fill up the entire filter. You wouldn't think installing a water filter in a refrigerator is rocket science but apparently some people have had trouble with these filters. We use them and haven't had any trouble. If you follow the instructions you won't have any either. They're pretty straightforward:
