PowerShot SD870IS Highlights
Canon technology maximizes quality and performance Genuine Canon Face Detection Technology sets the focus, exposure, and flash automatically, leaving you free to compose a group, capture an unguarded moment, or coax the perfect smile.
With DIGIC III, your images boast superior quality, the camera operates at top efficiency and battery life is enhanced. What's more, DIGIC III enables Canon's Face Detection Technology and Red-eye Correction to give you better, more true-to-life people shots. Simply press the Shutter Button halfway down, and the camera automatically pinpoints the faces in the scene and chooses the ideal focus point. The camera controls exposure settings and flash to keep every face looking bright and natural. Red eyes can be corrected during playback. iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the fast DIGIC III Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance. Red-eye correction detects and corrects red-eye during playback. In unusual cases where red-eye is not automatically detected, it can easily be corrected manually during playback mode. The PowerShot SD870IS Digital ELPH features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater shooting flexibility. 17 Shooting Modes, Including 10 Special Scene Modes Advanced presets for the best possible photos under certain conditions. ![]() Rating: - Canon PowerShot 870ISThe Canon PowerShot 870IS is my 3rd Canon PowerShot camera within 5 years. It is by far the best Canon camera that I have ever owned. This 8 megapixel camera delivers excellent photos and features for it's small size. After extensive research, I was thoroughly impressed with every feature, including the battery life (1 week on a single charge). The only feature that is missing from this camera (which I do not need anyway) is an optical view finder. The large LCD back screen is the only available ... Read More Rating: - sorry i bought itAlways have had a cannon and was excited to get this one. Was a mistake as my old canon power shot took a much better picture. I also gave it away and can't get it back now I am stuck with this one. Rating: - could do betterWhen downloaded to the computer the pictures look nice. When the pictures are printed they are not sharp. I print better pictures with my kodak easyshare camera I bought almost 5 years ago Rating: - Best camera in its classFirst of all, this is the first review I've written for any product. I thought that this camera is so great that I needed to write this. I did a lot of research before buying this camera. Read about 25 reviews about this camera and the competitors. This is by far the best camera in its class. I was very close to get the Lumix with 10x optical zoom, but I am glad I didn't. The 3 inch LCD screen is gorgeous. It works perfectly fine with little light and with direct sun light as well. I ... Read More Rating: - Not perfect, but still a great little cameraPicked this camera after reading tons of reviews. Main criteria, though, was the large, clear LCD screen. There are lots of setting you can tweak on this, but the main ones I use are the ISO settings. Although this camera has anti-blur, I find that you still need to set the ISO higher manually in many instances to get the best results - that is, without using the flash, which I hate (in all cameras of this type). I wish Canon had done a better job of that. Once you've got ... Read More Browse for similar items by category:
