Product Description:
This story is a narration from an Australian man who falls in love with two kinds of Candy: a woman of the same name and heroin. The narrator changes from a smart-aleck to someone trying to find a vein to inject while Candy changes from an actress call girl streetwalker and then a madwoman. Starting in Sydney the two eventually end up in Melbourne to go clean but they fail. - Powerful performances
is why I'm giving this film 4 stars. I rented this, wanting to see Heath Ledger's work in the film...and on the strentgh of his performance alone...I can recommend this. It is difficult and almost haunting to watch, knowing this was one of his last films. Reminiscent of Aleister Crowley's novel Diary of a Drug Fiend, Candy is a work of art. Those who have actually felt the gnawing desperation along with the highs of love and drug addiction will appreciate this film for it's authenticity and vulnerability. I rented this movie the first time i saw it and i was so impressed with both Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger. they both prove in this film that they have the ability to do all types of roles. the story is moving but sad and when the movie is over you cant help feeling a little bit depressed. - Heath's most underrated performance
This movie is very touching movie about how drugs can affect relationships. I believe it is one of Heath Ledger's greatest works. His performance as Dan is heartbreaking. Every Heath Ledger fan should see this movie. He and Abbie Cornish deserved Oscar nominations for their performances. This movie will make you both cry and laugh as you see Candy/Dan's relationship and addictions progress.

i think candy was a great movie it was a little sad but a real eye opener to what drugs can do to a person and what a person would do for drugs. Abby cornish was excellent and heath ledger was great. i would recommend this movie to any.
